Request for verification: quest items in sparkling holes in full-tiled biomes spawning correctly

NEEDS VERIFICATION: Items buried in sparkling holes for quests will be placed in the correct biome even if all ground tiles are covered in paving.

Details: I have my biomes (except for Frosted Heights) fully tiled to make foraging flowers/spices easier. Back in update 1.1.5 in the Breaking Bones Scar quest, this meant that finding the Lion's Claws was tricky - they are supposed to spawn in the Sunlit Plateau, but instead they seemed to find the closest un-tiled spot in my Village they could, which at the time was in the Peaceful Meadow. I was pleasantly surprised in the Fishy Business Nala quest that buried quest items spawned on top of tiles in the correct biome. If anyone is doing a playthrough from the beginning and could verify if past quests have also been fixed, that would be awesome! Lizz (talk) 15:29, 7 April 2023 (UTC)

Possible addition (unsure): Character Houses (e.g. Mini-Casita) or Quest items removes tiling underneath it if necessary for placement

I could be misremembering, but I *thought* I recalled in the last update it being particularly annoying to place the Mini-Casita because it requires untiled ground, and I have everything tiled. However, I noticed that with the 1.4 Update, if you move it, it removes any tiling placed beneath it, rather than preventing the player from placing it until the tile is first removed. Similarly, I noticed that the Relaxing Oasis for Simba's quest removes the tile beneath it - presumably to make it easier for players to place these items (why they can't just allow it to be placed on tile... sigh... but I digress...). I vaguely remember this also being an issue when I placed Stitch's house in the 1.2 update as well, and noticed that moving that character house will also remove the tiling beneath it, too. I'm not totally positive if this is a new addition or I'm misremembering, because admittedly I don't move things around in my Village much after initially placing them. Another related, possible new addition -- this one I feel slightly more confident was added, but maybe I'm misremembering -- did Character Houses always remove any existing furniture items beneath them? The functionality I'm now seeing is if you place a Character House over an existing placed furniture (or landscaping) item, the affected ground squares turn orange to indicate the existing item will disappear/be moved into inventory when the held item is dropped - the same way it works for furniture items and landscaping items. Does anyone have a better memory or any documented notes of how it functioned prior to update 4? Lizz (talk) 19:06, 29 April 2023 (UTC)
