Tiana is a character from the film The Princess and the Frog (2009). She can be unlocked after picking up the Mysterious Cajun Recipe Book in the Glade of Trust, and completing the quest A Taste for Literature.

She operates with a restaurant, Tiana's Palace, which serves meals like Chez Remy. She also manages a stall which offers fully cooked meals. Once unlocked, she will be added to the Dreamlight Valley Characters Collection.

Unlocking

Tiana can be unlocked by progressing in the quest A Taste for Literature from Remy. To begin the quest the Mysterious Cajun Recipe Book must be picked up. It will appear after the pillar in the Glade of Trust has been restored.

She will already available in the Valley and unlocked in the before building her house. Her home is a bungalow style house which is unlocked during the quest A Taste for Literature for 5,000.

Besides good food? Hmm... that's an interesting question. I'd say... Music, friendship, and making folks laugh! →  Music? Do you dance? I didn't used to, but Naveen's a wonderful teacher. I sure do love dancing with him. →  Who are your best friends? Well there's Charlotte of course, and Louis. He's a gator and a very talented musician. And dear old Ray. Sometimes I look at the night sky and talk to him and Evangeline. I know in my heart he can hear me. →  So you have a good sense of humor? I sure do! Even if Naveen once thought I was a "stick in the mud." His actual words; can you believe that? But I love to laugh and make those around me laugh, too.

Do you like it here in the Valley?

Oh, absolutely! It's beautiful here. Truly a one-of-a-kind place. →  Who have you been spending time with? Almost everyone! It reminds me of home, in a way. Such a wonderful sense of community. →  What do you like to do? Well, besides cooking... I've enjoyed seeing my friends in the Village again... ... going to the Beach... exploring the Forest and the Glade... visiting Chez Remy... There's always something fun to do! →  Is there anything you don't like? How's Naveen doing?

Why, he's just peachy keen! In fact, he's learning to cook. →  How's that going? Well, considering he couldn't even mince a mushroom when I first met him, I'd say he's doing well. He's even introduced me to some delicious dishes from Maldonia! →  Sounds like a potential disaster. I'm not saying there haven't been some messes, but he's a quick learner. I just love how he doesn't let any mistakes get under his skin. He just tosses away whatever's burnt or spilled and starts right over! →  He cooks in the restaurant? Oh no, he's out front with me and the customers or on stage playing with Louis and the band. But we cook together at home. It's one of our favorite ways to spend time with each other.

You mean making sure to take time for myself? Well, now that Tiana's Palace is open, I can tell you that I've been able to do that a whole lot more. →  Are you getting enough rest? Absolutely! A full night's sleep every night. And while I've been visiting here, sometimes I even nap in the afternoon. I'll curl up with a good book and just doze off for a while. →  Are you doing fun things? I sure am! I love to read and go for hikes. And I've been spending time with the astronomy club lately. The stars here are a bit different from the ones over New Orleans. →  Are you spending time with friends? I sure am! There's so much to do here and good folks to do it with. I make sure I don't miss out on the fun anymore! Naveen and Mama Odie taught me that.

So what's it REALLY like to kiss a frog?

You know, I can barely remember. I guess what happened after was such a shock, I kind of forgot. →  But it brought you to the love of your life! And I am very grateful for that, of course. But still, I'd have preferred to NOT have had to kiss a frog. Even a cute one. →  But frogs are so cute! And Naveen was a VERY handsome frog. But I definitely prefer him as a human! →  I bet it was slimy! Actually, frogs aren't slimy. They secrete mucus to help them stay clean and moist. Naveen taught me that.

That's a pretty dress!

Why, thank you! My mama designed it special for the opening of my restaurant. →  Do you like dressing up? I do! Not all the time, mind you, but certainly on special occasions. My best friend Charlotte, though? She'd wear a new ball gown every day if she could! →  Does your mother make all your clothes? She did for a long time. And that always made me feel so loved. Now, Mama's so busy designing for others that I buy most of my everyday clothes. But anytime I need a special dress, she's the only one I go to! →  You know Minnie Mouse is a seamstress, too. That's right! She makes some wonderful clothes. I sure would love her and Mama to meet.

What's the best part about running a restaurant?

Ooh, that's a tough question... Well, I love talking to the guests, planning the menu... And I always enjoy when I get to do a little cooking. →  What's it like talking to guests? Oh, it's wonderful! I want everyone to feel welcome at Tiana's Palace. So, I make sure I get to know them a bit. Learn where they're from, maybe what they're celebrating. I can't tell you how many interesting folks I've met since we opened! →  Planning the menu? That's right. A menu takes a lot of planning. I need to choose recipes based on what's in season... Give people choices but not overwhelm them. And, of course, you want to make the menu itself look pretty. You eat with your eyes first — and that starts with the menu! →  You don't cook everything? Well, I develop the recipes for every dish, right down to the garnish and how it's plated. But I have a marvelous team of cooks who do the actual cooking. That way I can be in the dining room greeting guests and making sure everything runs just right.

What's the secret to good gumbo?

Well, everyone's got their own unique recipe for gumbo. But I'm happy to share some of my tips with you. It's all about ingredients, seasoning, and service. →  Let's talk ingredients. The secret to the best ingredients is: fresh as you can get. Vegetables right off the vine and seafood right out of the sea. You'll taste that freshness in every bite. →  Tell me about seasoning. Personally, I like to be generous with the hot sauce. But, I always have a pot that's less spicy for folks who don't like that much heat. →  How does serving matter? Oh, that's the most important one! Gumbo always tastes better when you share it with friends. My daddy taught me that, and I'll never forget it.

What's your favorite thing about food?

I'd have to say how it brings folks together. Do you have a favorite food, PLAYER? →  Anything sweet! Oh, I do love a good dessert! And beignets are my specialty. Have you ever had one? The sugar sprinkled on top gives them just the right amount of sweetness! →  I love a warm, hearty meal! I couldn't agree more. I've been making gumbo since I was a child. To this day, a spoonful makes me feel like I'm back home in Mama and Daddy's kitchen. →  I'm not too sure. Well, we're going to have to fix that! Maybe I can help you explore some different foods. I bet you'll find a flavor that really speaks to you.

French and Cajun cuisines definitely have some common elements. You're right. A lot of Cajun dishes start with the trinity — onions, bell pepper, and celery. That's extremely close to the French mirepoix — onions, carrots, and celery! Well... how about I'll do mostly Cajun dishes... ...and you can do mostly traditional French dishes? Deal! We'll each have our specialties and room to be creative. Judging Meals ( Dreamlight Gastronomy) In your exert opinion, what goes into a good Cajun meal? Well, okra soup should be gently simmered to bring out all the delicate flavors. Yes, I can smell them already! What about fish creole? That's all about the cooking time. It's so easy to overcook fish! Don't I know it! And beignets? They need to be light and fluffy so the sweetness isn't too much.
