Scrooge McDuck is a character from the classic Disney cartoons.

When the player arrives in Dreamlight Valley Scrooge already lives there and has a store in the Plaza. Scrooge provides the player options to purchase and upgrade wells, stalls, and character houses as well as operating a store with a daily rotating stock of clothing and items.

Unlocking

Players will have Scrooge McDuck unlocked automatically when they begin a new game. He can be found outside his closed store in the Plaza.

Scrooge McDuck does not sleep or eat at Chez Remy, he can be found inside his store at all times of day and night.

Scrooge McDuck will award the following rewards when Friendship levels are reached. Friendship can be leveled up through gifts, quests, conversation, or by hanging out.

A little bit of fishing here, a little bit of mining there... But the best investment is real estate. Keep clearing away Night Thorns and opening up more of Dreamlight Valley. And always be ready to go on an adventure to the far side of the Village. There are lots of precious gems you cannae find if you stick to the Meadow!

Looking for a bit of advice about managing your Star Coins? →  Please! A penny for your thoughts! My thoughts are worth a lot more than a penny, you know. But we all need to start somewhere. A penny's better than nothing. →  I could always use a little advice. That's the right attitude! Don't ever go discounting the value of a little advice... or a little bit of money. →   I probably already know what you're about to tell me... Hey! You can never go wrong listening to some honest advice. player sigh* Okay, okay, fine. What's your advice? Listen up. Who knows? Maybe you'll even find a bit of wisdom in it. And a little bit of wisdom's all you really need to strike it rich. In fact, that's just what my advice to ya is all about. Managing your money takes nothing more than shrewd investment. Start with something little and turn it into a lot. Something little like... a seed! In this Valley, crops are... well, a cash crop. player What sorts of plants should I grow? But it's more than that. →   Ridiculously high prices? Huh?! For products as high quality as the ones I offer, my prices are a bargain. player Okay, okay, sorry. You know what this Village needs? A money bin so I can go for a swim. →  We can't afford that. Not yet, perhaps. But a few savvy business decisions and a daring adventure or two, and you'll see. It's how I've made one fortune, and how I'll make another! →  You can't swim in money. Not with that attitude you can't! I've spent many a year perfecting diving and backstroking through gold. →  You could swim in the ocean. And get salt in my feathers?! Who do you think I am?! The world's second-richest duck?

What are you up to today?

I've been reminiscing about my time in the Yukon near Mooseneck Glacier. The valleys between those mountains... they were so... so... →  ...pure and beautiful? That it was, Player. That it was. →  ...clean and untouched? That it was, Player. That it was. →  ...full of potential for profit? Aye, there were plenty of ways to turn a profit. But I appreciated them for more than just that. No fancy meal has tasted half as fine as the beans I cooked on my own campfire under the Klondike stars. Before stock options and crop futures and compound interest, my tools were my gold pan, my pick, and my shovel. With those, I worked the icy creeks and frozen tundra... ...and earned every cent with my own two hands. →  Sounds amazing! Aye, that it was. →  Sounds like a lot of work. Aye, it was, but it was noble work. Sometimes I think more than gold or assets in banks or properties around the world... ...I'm richest in memories.

I'm Scrooge McDuck! I made my fortune being tougher than the toughies and smarter than the smarties. →  How tough were the toughies? Oh, they were the toughest. Yukon miners and Beagle Boy bandits! But I out-hiked, out-swam, and out-explored them all! →  How smart were the smarties? Oh, they were the smartest. Cunning foxes and ruthless entrepreneurs. But I outfoxed the foxes and out-ruthed the ruthless. Is "out-ruthed" a word? Well, if it is, I did it! →  Never heard of you? No? Well then, can you show me to the rock you've been living under? I've made many a fortune exploring places remote and rarely traveled.

Have I ever told you about any of my great adventures, Player? Searching a Scottish castle? Hunting for gold in the Klondike? →  What were you searching for in those castles? I was searching for a family treasure hidden in the McDuck family's ancestral castle in Scotland. The treasure had been lost for years, but I found it with an X-ray machine! There was also a meddling ghost, but Donald and I got the better of him! →  Did you find a lot of gold in the Klondike? That I did! I found a golden rock the size of a goose egg. It was the start of my fortune! I used it to buy land in Duckburg. And the rest, as they say, is history. →   Tell me something different. Aye, I'll tell you the story of how I earned my first dime! I was a young lad in Glasgow, earning my way shining shoes. My very first customer was a ditch digger with an inch of mud on his boots! I scrubbed with all the strength in my small body and left his boots spotless. But he paid me with an American dime, which was useless in Glasgow! The cheat! I vowed then to always be honest in my dealings and earn my money square.

Aye. Specifically, I consider myself an adventure-capitalist. I made much of my fortune searching for treasure, and investing it wisely. Do you have some questions about money? I'd be happy to answer 'em for you. →  How did you get so rich? By being smarter than the smarties and tougher than the toughies! I'm not like some folks, born to riches. I was born to a poor family in Scotland and earned every dime I've got! →  Why do you care so much about money? Aye, that's a fair question. And I'll answer it true. I was born to a poor family in Scotland. I know what it means to not have what you need. So, I know the real value of money. →  How do I make as much money as you? Well, you have to work hard and be clever and stubborn, too. And it doesn't hurt to be lucky. But most importantly, you have to treat folks fairly. Not like some who got where they are by cheating, and taking advantage of folks. And the more money they have, the more they cheat. →  How do we stop them? Ooh, that's a hard question. Money's a powerful thing. You've got to have rules about how money can be spent, and how workers can be treated. But those that get rich by cheating will spend to keep cheating. So you've always gotta keep your eyes open. →  Why aren't you like that? Aye, well... I've done some things I'm not proud of. But I like to think I've learned my lesson. I suppose it's my family, and the good folks I've worked with. I wouldn't want to do anything to change how they see me. →  Cheating sounds fun. What?! Cheaters are nothing but no-good, spineless, rotten apples! Trust me: Nothing worthwhile ever comes from cheating.
