Afaik characters do pay coins after serving them -- the game just doesn't tell you. This can be verified by comparing coin amounts before and after serving them or serving them while a duty to obtain coins is active.
I just re-verified this as well. If you don't have a Dreamlight Duty active or don't check your Star Coins before/after it isn't very obvious, but I believe it has always been the case. Lizz (talk) 01:08, 9 April 2023 (UTC)
