Should holiday events like the Halloween event and the upcoming Christmas one be included here? We don't have explicit names or icons for them like we do for Star Paths, but they're events nevertheless, and I think the community would benefit from having past events documented and current events outlined. If they're located elsewhere on the wiki, maybe they should be linked to here.—Dukewhite (talk) 23:51, 10 December 2022 (UTC)

New Category

I think maybe a third event category would be good here - for those events which don't actually happen inside game, but are tracked/progressed outside and then the rewards are mailed (Twitch Drops, Dreamlight Park Community Challenge). 'Community Events' sounds more appropriate - but I also think it sounds a bit 'unofficial' and maybe implies the events are managed by the community. -- Marblemadmax (talk) 23:57, 12 April 2023 (UTC)

I agree on both points -- that name doesn't feel quite right, but it does seem like they warrant their own type of category. I'm coming up blank on any better nomenclature atm though... perhaps something with the word "External" in it. Lizz (talk) 00:12, 13 April 2023 (UTC)
I'm still not sure about 'community events' but it seems like that category includes (and will include) a variety of different types of events promoted through social media/discord/twitch etc so maybe it fits best for now.
I changed 'Limited Time Events' to 'Gameplay Events' - but I think this may need a better header as well. Limited Time events applys to all the events, so that wasn't very descriptive - maybe seasonal events would make sense for this event type? 'Gameplay' separates that these events are fully contained in the game - players don't need any external info or conditions to be rewarded (outside the dates). My only reluctance to use 'seasonal' is that it suggests the events will return every year (and we don't know for sure they will). -- Marblemadmax (talk) 17:48, 31 May 2023 (UTC)
