Disney Item Use Issue
Hello, I noticed an edit on the wiki page for the “Curses and Hexing 101” book. I was wondering if there was an error on the use of the item?
The book shelf in the secret room when interacting with only offered the option of the “Conspicuous Book“ to be selected. The three others books (Curses and Hexing 101, The Beginner's Guide to Transfiguration, Conjure Your Cares Away) were not highlighted or available to be used in the book shelf.
:I replied to this message on my talk page as well - but copying here for visibility. I've removed the info about this book use until it's better verified! Thanks for the report -- Marblemadmax (talk) 13:32, 21 February 2023 (UTC)
Furniture category should default to unknown rather than decor
When making new furniture pages, can we tag them with missing categories & not categorize them as decor by default unless the categories are actually verified? It's hard to figure out which furniture are missing categories / incorrectly categorized as decor when this is done by default.
:I'm guilty of this and agree it's messy to cleanup - will make sure going forward to leave leave the param empty if it's not been verified in game! -- Marblemadmax (talk) 09:40, 11 April 2023 (UTC)
Cookbook recipe vs required recipe
Are the recipes on the wiki supposed to list the ingredients given by the in-game cookbook or the actual items needed to make it? A few recipes (for example, red fruit pie) use one or more generic ingredients (ex: wheat, butter, any fruit), but if you use any ingredient in the category other than one (ex: any fruit other than raspberry) you get a different item. In either case, it would be helpful if the infobox could at least have a reference at the bottom noting the difference between the cookbook recipe and the required ingredients.
:The standard we've used so far is to match the game in all cases - EXCEPT when it states a recipe uses "Any Ingredient" and that's not the case. For example if a recipe calls for 'ANY VEGGIE' (example) and specific veggies don't produce the recipe the wiki should instead list the veggies which work. This is not a perfect solution - players will continue to point out the wiki is different than the game and think it's in error - but it's more accurate this way, and will be less prone to players finding the info, trying to make a recipe and then not understanding why it doesn't work (which can happen if you're only using the game cookbook for reference). -- Marblemadmax (talk) 09:38, 11 April 2023 (UTC)
Including other languages
I am not finding a means of communication between the owner of the page, but I will create a post here (since it is the only means),
I'm from Brazil and here we have a lot of dreamlight valley players, but we don't have a wiki in portuguese yet, and that would help a lot since many people are not fluent in english or spanish. I have the idea of making a Portuguese version of this wiki, like the stardew valley wiki where it is possible to change languages. It would be possible? I am responsible for doing everything myself, I just need to know how to include another language on the site...
Thank you, for now.

In this latest update, there's at least one item where the model used in the game world changed, but the thumbnail image in the Collection did not (Minimalistic Ceiling Lights - was previously more yellow, now is more white). The language I've seen used for history logs is simply "Updated appearance", but I feel like that doesn't distinguish between what was updated - the model, or the thumbnail, or both. As another example, the Carrot image changed (presumably a bug, intended to just be used for Olaf's Nose, but applied to all Carrots), but the appearance of the model didn't change. I think a ton of the Cinderella items and Mickey & Friends also had image changes, but not model reskins/updates. The only significant model change I've seen so far is Tall Potted Plant, and both the image and model was changed in that case. I propose "Updated appearance" for updated model, "Updated image" for updated thumbnail, and "Updated appearance and image" for both - but open to suggestions/feedback. :That sounds clear - it would be really good to standardize the language! There are a number of thumbnails which have been changed in-game/on the wiki but those haven't always been tracked in the changelog for the articles. There should be a full history though to attach dates if we want to go back and update articles to include it (which it makes sense that they would). -- Marblemadmax (talk) 13:31, 21 February 2023 (UTC)
