Removed category Decor

I removed category "Decorative", which is not associated with this object currently. Around ~1/31/23, I did this with a handful of other items that I discovered, and made a history log note estimating that their category was changed in version 1.1.20, since I had seen at least one confirmed item (Web-Snared Tree) that had a category change with that update. However, I didn't do that for this item, because I'm now wondering if creating an item with "Decorative" is just the default when the categories are not immediately obvious. (In that thread, since an item can have multiple categories, it may be confusing as to whether an item has been confirmed to only have a single category to list only one, rather than leaving it blank, like we do with tags.)

Anyway, if anyone knows/remembers that this was definitely labeled as Decor in a previous version, this is the formatting I've previously used for an estimated version change - not sure if there's a better preferred format:

  • 1.1.20: [1] Changed category from Decor to Seating
  1. This is an estimate - the exact update is unknown.

I've seen these edits - but I don't know for sure that any of these were recategorized. I think many may have never been categorized as decorative in-game in the first place. This field was inaccurate for a long time because A) it only held one value before (when the game holds multiple) and B) it wasn't always mapped from what was in-game but from what was 'assumed' to be in game. I'm guilty of entering assumed categories here instead of drawing from the game. For this field specifically I think it's safe to assume in all cases if the game and wiki don't match the wiki is wrong and not that the game has updated. As such it may be worth going back and cleaning up these history entries. Really sorry for my part in populating some bad data! -- Marblemadmax (talk) 22:43, 8 March 2023 (UTC)
~ No worries, just wanted to check! Obvs none of this data is life-changing stuff, haha, and we've definitely learned more as time has gone on. And, you have more help contributing to the wiki now! :) I agree that it's probably more likely that the wiki info was wrong rather than the devs randomly recategorized objects, given cases like Crowned Mickey Mouse Plant that still has the "green" filter on, even though the image was changed to a clearly blue plant in Update 1. I'll try to re-tidy what I can of my previous edits as I see it. I could take note of them in a centralized place, like the Furniture page, but probably seeing the commit logs should be enough to double check, I hope? Lizz (talk) 23:03, 8 March 2023 (UTC)
