Touch of Magic is a customization tool that allows players to change the colors and add Motifs to basic items. Players can choose from a preselected palette of 75 colors, and can add up to 50 layers of Motifs. Motifs can be moved, rotated, resized, as well as horizontally flipped and chosen whether or not to repeat. An in-game guide is available with information and platform-specific controls in the Game Guide, which can be found under the Settings tab.

Clothing

The following clothing items can be customized. To select one, open Customize from the Wardrobe menu. These can be worn as is, recolored, and/or patterned with Motifs. Up to 32 designs can be saved for each Body Type (Gender).

Most of this clothing is available when beginning the game, and these pieces are all registered to the player's Clothing Set Collection. Some additional pieces are unlocked after purchase at Scrooge's Store, or by purchasing from Daisy at the Boutique in exchange for Daisy Coins.

Furniture

The following furniture items can be customized using the Touch of Magic tool. To create a custom piece of furniture, select the Customize category in the Furniture menu.

These items can be placed as is or customized by applying color, Motifs, or adjusting the material and texture settings. Up to 32 designs can be saved for all total furniture items.

A few items are available by default when beginning a new game, and most other items are available to craft before they can be customized, and a selection can be purchased from Daisy at the Boutique in exchange for Daisy Coins. All furniture is tracked in both the Dreamlight Valley Crafting Collection and the Dreamlight Valley Furniture Sets Collection.
