Rainbow Fox is a companion found in the Dark Castle, which is unlocked during the quest 
The Dark Castle.
The Rainbow Fox is unlocked by applying the Rainbow Potion to the inert statue of the fox. This will activate a short cutscene and the fox will transform from the statue.
This companion has an animated rainbow effect which continually moves over it.
Unlocking
Unlocking this companion requires completing a series of hidden quests & collecting six colored potatoes hidden throughout the valley - all biomes in the valley will need to be unlocked to complete this questline. Unlocking the Rainbow Fox requires collecting six colored potions derived from the six colored potatoes:
Gleaming Gold Potion (from 
Mysterious Golden Potato)
Raging Red Potion (from 
Red Potato)
Electrifying Orange Potion (from 
Orange Potato)
Brilliant Blue Potion (from 
Blue Potato)
Royal Purple Potion (from 
Purple Potato)
Crystalline Green Potion (from 
Green Potato)
After collecting the six colored potions, the colored potions can be combined into a Rainbow Potion. During or after completing the later-game story quest The Dark Castle, the player is able to enter a portal in the Plaza which leads to the Dark Castle. Inside the first room of the castle a small gray stone statue of a fox can be found among the debris. When interacted with, there is a space to insert an item. Place the Rainbow Potion inside and a short cutscene will play of the Rainbow Fox being transformed from stone. After the cutscene, it will be added as a companion.
