Display showing multiple active Bonuses

A Bonus is a modifier that changes or enhances activities or actions in the Valley. When a Bonus is active, an icon and accompanying text displays in the lower-right corner of the UI, above the image of the currently active tool. Multiple Bonuses can be active simultaneously. They will display in the order that they were activated, with the oldest at the top, and the most recent at the bottom.

Villager Companion Role Benefits

Hanging out with a Villager with a role has a chance to provide extra resources. Assigning additional Villagers to the same role will increase the bonus resource chance for all characters with that role.

This hang out bonus is also tied to the Friendship level of the both the "hang out" Villager and all other Villagers with the same role.

The bonus chance of a resource when gathering while hanging out with a Villager with the matching role is:

Bonus Chance = Base Chance + Active Friend Level + Inactive Friend Level

  • Base Chance: 20% for Gardening, and 25% for all other roles.
  • Active Friend Level: 3.5% per friendship level of the Villager hanging out, up to 35% at level 10 friendship
  • Inactive Friend Level: 1% per friendship level of all friends not hanging out, up to 10% each friend at level 10 friendship

This means bonus resources will be generated 100% of the time while hanging out if there are 5 Villagers assigned that same role (6 if the role is Gardening).

The Bonus Chance does not max out at 100%. Villager Companions will always only produce one bonus resource item, but the quantity of the item once picked up may be more than one, if sufficient Villagers are assigned to the role. In order to meet or exceed 200% Bonus Chance, 15 Villagers must be assigned to the role (16 for Gardening), and for 300%, 25 Villagers must be assigned to the role (26 for Gardening).

Number of
Level 10 Villagers
Number of
Bonus Resources
Mist Reward
(Timebending Role)
5 (6 for Gardening) 1 Mist (145 - 155) (50%)
6 - 14 (7 - 15 for Gardening) Guaranteed +1,
chance at +4
15 (16 for Gardening) 4 Mist (580 - 620) (200%)
16 - 24 (17 - 25 for Gardening) Guaranteed +4,
chance at +9
25 (26 for Gardening) 9 Mist (1305 - 1395) (450%) (Pending Confirmation)
26 - 34 (27+ for Gardening) Guaranteed +9,
chance at +16
35 (36 for Gardening, which is not currently possible) 16 Mist (2320 - 2480) (800%)

Other notes:

  • Since Villager Companions will only produce one bonus resource item, Green Reward Chests yielded from Digging will not be multiplied beyond the first bonus item. If a player is seeking to optimize the number of Green Reward Chests that can be obtained from Digging, there is no benefit to having more than 5 Villagers assigned to the Digging Role.
  • Villager Companions will only produce one (1) bonus crop per crop harvested as a baseline, regardless of the harvest yield of the crop.
  • Multiple items may be yielded when mining a Rock Spot, but when a Villager Companion multiplies a bonus Mining resource, it will always be the last item yielded.
  • The bonus chance does not apply to items gained from clearing obstacles -- for example, Small Mushroom Patch will not yield additional Mushrooms if cleared while Hanging Out with a Forager Companion.

Well Fed Benefits

When the Well Fed Bonus is active, two additional speeds of locomotion become available to the Player.

Run

The Player can run at a faster speed for no extra energy expenditure.

Sprint

A Player utilizing Sprint, which is only available while the Well Fed Bonus is active

The Player can glide/hover using Sprint. This action will quickly expend Energy, and as soon as the Well Fed Bonus is exhausted, the Player will automatically stop Sprinting.

Luck

The rate of Critical Harvests (Golden Harvests) is reported to be increased.

Caveats

If there is a currently active Star Path duty to collect a specific item, activating a Bonus will be ineffective. For example, if a duty to "Mine Amethysts" is active and the Miracle Pickaxe Polish has been used, rock nodes in the Frosted Heights and Forgotten Lands (where Amethyst can be found) will only yield the other Minerals for those Biomes until the charges of the Bonus have been depleted.
