The Small Chest is a storage container that has 16 inventory spaces. It is identical to the Chest, which it replaces; all Chests that were placed in the Valley and stored in the player's inventory were replaced by Small Chests, with all contents of placed Chests maintained.

It can be positioned and placed using furniture placement mode. It can be crafted and collected using a crafting station. Unlike the Large Chest and Medium Chest, once collected it will only be added to the Crafting Collection.

Once placed it can be interacted with to store items outside the player's inventory. Crafting materials and cooking ingredients stored inside chests are accessible at crafting stations, even though they are no longer in inventory.
