The Small Chest is a storage container which can be crafted using a crafting station. It has 16 inventory spaces. It is identical to the Chest, which it replaces; all Chests that were placed in the Valley and stored in the player's inventory were replaced by Small Chests, with all contents of placed Chests maintained.
Once placed it can be interacted with to store items outside the player's inventory. Crafting materials and cooking ingredients stored inside chests are accessible at crafting stations, even though they are no longer in inventory.
