The forest is just what I'm used to. It's simple there. Just me and Sven. The trees. The birds. A guy can really think, ya know?
— Kristoff

Kristoff is a character from the Disney film Frozen (2013) and its franchise. He is encountered after clearing the path to the Forest of Valor, and joins the village after completing the quest Lost in the Dark Grove.

His home is a large castle initially found in the Forest of Valor, where he lives together with Anna and Olaf. Once unlocked, he will be added to the Dreamlight Valley Characters Collection.

Unlocking

Kristoff can be found in the Forest of Valor biome standing near a strange portal. Speak to him and he will explain that Donald Duck has travelled inside the portal and they have been separated. Enter inside the portal and find a feather on the ground, then go back and show it to Kristoff.

Next, go show Merlin the feather and he will request some materials for a tracking spell - 2 Emeralds, 1 Plant from the Dark Grove (inside the portal), and 4 Dream Shards. Bring the materials back to Merlin for him to enchant Donald's feather.

Return with the Enchanted Feather to the portal to re-enter the Dark Grove, the feather will float and lead a path through the mist. Follow it and you will eventually find Donald Duck, who rewards the Orb of Courage. A portal will open back to the Valley where the orb can be placed back inside the Pillar.

Placing the orb will summon Donald back to the Valley, and unlock with Kristoff, who will now wander the Valley as well.

Daily Discussions

Can I help you?
Kristoff.png

What do you think's the most romantic way to spend an evening with someone you love?

→  Candlelit dinner.
Kristoff.png Huh? I thought that might be cliché, but maybe clichés are good sometimes?
Kristoff.png Especially when it comes to romance. Thanks, Player. You've given me a lot to think about.
→  Playing charades.
Kristoff.png

Really? I think that's fun, but I'm not sure I'd call it romantic. Let me know if you have any other ideas.

→  Cuddling by a campfire in the snowy woods.
Kristoff.png

Really? Because that sounds perfect to me! Thanks for the idea, Player!

Do you need my advice on anything?
Kristoff.png

I'm hoping you can settle something for me...

Kristoff.png

What would you think if someone told you they'd gotten engaged to someone they'd just met that day?

→  Terrible idea.
Kristoff.png

Exactly! The first day you meet someone, they're practically a stranger! Thanks. I was pretty sure I wasn't alone in thinking that.

→   True love!
Kristoff.png

What?! You can't really get to know someone in just one day.

Kristoff.png

What if he's secretly plotting to steal your kingdom? What if you hate the way he picks his nose?

→  That's a good point.
Kristoff.png

It is a good point! Thank you.

→  Doesn't matter. True love.
Kristoff.png

No. I'm sorry. You can't just say "true love" like it answers all the questions!

→  Ew.
Kristoff.png

All men do it. Sorry.

Is everything okay?
Kristoff.png

Is talking about feelings as hard for you as it is for me? Why is that?

→  Because they're important.
Kristoff.png I guess that makes sense. You don't want to mess up something that important.
Kristoff.png And it's easy to get confused about feelings.
→  Because they're scary.
Kristoff.png Wait -- why would feelings be scary? They can't bite you, like wolves. You can't fall off the side of a feeling and die.
Kristoff.png They just sit inside of you, always there, haunting your every waking moment and changing everything.
Kristoff.png ... Yep. You're right. Feelings can be terrifying.
→  Because they're weird.
Kristoff.png You're right, feelings ARE weird. Things were so much simpler when it was just me, Sven and the trolls!
Kristoff.png Simpler... but not as amazing. So I guess feelings are worth it.
Kristoff.png

How do YOU talk about feelings, Player?

→  Be honest.
Kristoff.png I'm always honest. It's just sometimes the words I use don't end up saying what I really mean.
Kristoff.png Like one time I called Anna crazy for getting engaged to a man she just met.
Kristoff.png That wasn't the right word at all. I should have said "impetuous," or "eager," or "passionate"! Because Anna is all those things, and I love that about her.
→  Be sensitive.
Kristoff.png Yeah, being sensitive isn't really something I learned while climbing mountains and harvesting ice.
Kristoff.png But ever since I met Anna, I've been trying my best.
→  Just ignore your feelings.
Kristoff.png

Does that work? I don't know if that's a good idea.

Need any help?
Kristoff.png

Hey, Player. You know Goofy, right?

→  Yeah! We're friends.
Kristoff.png

[continue to next line]

→  I know him.
Kristoff.png

[continue to next line]

→   Who?
Kristoff.png

You know, Goofy. He runs the market Stall in the Meadow?

player

Of course I know Goofy. I'm just joking around. Why do you ask?

Kristoff.png

He seems like a nice guy. I'd like to get to know him better. It'd be great to make some more friends around the Village.

Kristoff.png

Does he have any hobbies I could talk to him about?

player

Hmmm. Goofy likes...

→  ...fishing.
Kristoff.png

Fishing, huh? I can work with that.

→  ...talking to people.
Kristoff.png

Oh... I'm not generally a big talker, but I am a good listener. Maybe that'll work.

Kristoff.png

Thanks, Player.

Something on your mind?
Kristoff.png

Player, some people think it's weird that I spend so much time in the woods. Do you?

→  Not at all.
Kristoff.png

Good to know.

→  Yeah, a bit.
Kristoff.png

Oh, Hmm...

→  It's okay to be weird.
Kristoff.png

Thanks... I guess everyone's weird in their own way, right?

Kristoff.png

The forest is just what I'm used to. It's simple there.

Kristoff.png

Just me and Sven. The trees. The birds. A guy can really think, ya know?

→  That sounds nice.
Kristoff.png

It is. It's always worked for me.

→  It's where you grew up, right?
Kristoff.png

Yeah. The forest and Troll Valley. Guess that's why I feel at home there.

→  Just don't stay alone for too long.
Kristoff.png

I promise I won't. Don't want to lose touch with everyone I care about. And besides, there aren't a lot of carrots in the forest for Sven.

Something wrong?
Kristoff.png

Player, you've seen those odd-looking, sharp plants, right?

Kristoff.png

I think they're called Night Thorns.

→  Believe me, I've seen them.
Kristoff.png

It seems like they're everywhere.

→  They're kinda hard to miss.
Kristoff.png

It seems like they're everywhere.

→  I have to deal with them constantly.
Kristoff.png

Sorry. That doesn't sound like fun.

Kristoff.png

The trolls believe that everything in nature has a purpose.

Kristoff.png

Do you think we could make something useful out of them?

→  That would be dangerous. They're magic.
Kristoff.png

Oh, wow. It is not smart to mess with magic.

→  Like what?
Kristoff.png

Oh, I don't know... tea? Thorny wreaths? Actually...

→  Maybe if we purified them...
Kristoff.png

That sounds like magic. Which I try not to mess with.

Kristoff.png

I'll just leave dealing with the Night Thorns to the magic professionals. Mainly you.

What are you thinking right now?
Kristoff.png

Reindeer are better than people. Agree or disagree?

→  Yeah. People suck.
Kristoff.png Well, that's kind of harsh. I mean a lot of people aren't great.
Kristoff.png But most of them are okay. And a few are even incredible.
→  People smell better.
Kristoff.png

Okay, you've got me there. A definite advantage.

→  I like both equally.
Kristoff.png Me too! Well, most people.
Kristoff.png ... But ALL reindeer!
What are you up to today?
Kristoff.png

So, I was thinking of climbing an icy mountain today.

→  That sounds fun.
Kristoff.png It is fun. And I like the feeling of accomplishment when I get to the top of a tall mountain.
Kristoff.png I can't wait to look down and see the whole Valley in one glance.
→  That sounds dangerous.
Kristoff.png

It can be, but I've been climbing mountains my whole life.

→  Why?
Kristoff.png

Why does anyone climb a mountain? To get to the top.

Kristoff.png

I can't wait to look down and see the whole Valley in one glance.

→  That sounds beautiful.
Kristoff.png

I'm sure it will be. Sights like that really make you understand your place in the world.

→  I bet you'll enjoy that.
Kristoff.png

I will. I bet it's gonna be incredible.

→  Don't slip!
Kristoff.png

Don't worry. I'm an expert. I'll be fine.

You look upset. [while raining]
Kristoff.png

Ugh. Working in the rain is definitely not my favorite thing.

→  Tell me about it.
Kristoff.png You get wet, which means you're cold. And rain turns everything muddy. And if it gets colder, your wet gear freezes!
Kristoff.png Which is dangerous because frozen gear is hard to use and breaks easily... Did I mention I don't like working in the rain?
→  Isn't snow worse than rain?
Kristoff.png

No. Snow is much better than rain. Snow you can just shake off. Snow just makes things cold. And I like the cold... When it's dry.

→  Except for working in sleet.
Kristoff.png

You're right. Sleet is definitely worse than rain.

You seem confused.
Kristoff.png

Player. Do you think the magic here is strange?

→  Very strange.
Kristoff.png

Yes! Thank you!

→  I think it's more magical.
Kristoff.png

Right... because it's magic. But the magical stuff I've seen here is definitely strange.

→  I'm starting to think of it as normal.
Kristoff.png

Really? Huh. Because the magical stuff I've seen here is definitely strange.

Kristoff.png

This isn't the kind of magic I'm used to. Some things here just don't make sense to me.

→  Yeah. Me neither.
Kristoff.png

Phew! I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed.

→  Is it different from the trolls' magic?
Kristoff.png

Totally different! They're love experts and never confuse things or make you lose your memory.

→  Is it like Elsa's magic?
Kristoff.png

No. Elsa's magic is ice and snow. Pretty useful stuff, actually, speaking as an ice expert.
