— Kristoff
Kristoff is a character from the Disney film Frozen (2013) and its franchise. He is encountered after clearing the path to the Forest of Valor, and joins the village after completing the quest Lost in the Dark Grove.
His home is a large castle initially found in the Forest of Valor, where he lives together with Anna and Olaf. Once unlocked, he will be added to the Dreamlight Valley Characters Collection.
Unlocking
Kristoff can be found in the Forest of Valor biome standing near a strange portal. Speak to him and he will explain that Donald Duck has travelled inside the portal and they have been separated. Enter inside the portal and find a feather on the ground, then go back and show it to Kristoff.
Next, go show Merlin the feather and he will request some materials for a tracking spell - 2 Emeralds, 1 Plant from the Dark Grove (inside the portal), and 4 Dream Shards. Bring the materials back to Merlin for him to enchant Donald's feather.
Return with the Enchanted Feather to the portal to re-enter the Dark Grove, the feather will float and lead a path through the mist. Follow it and you will eventually find Donald Duck, who rewards the Orb of Courage. A portal will open back to the Valley where the orb can be placed back inside the Pillar.
Placing the orb will summon Donald back to the Valley, and unlock with Kristoff, who will now wander the Valley as well.

Daily Discussions
Do you need my advice on anything?
I'm hoping you can settle something for me...
What would you think if someone told you they'd gotten engaged to someone they'd just met that day?
→ Terrible idea.
Exactly! The first day you meet someone, they're practically a stranger! Thanks. I was pretty sure I wasn't alone in thinking that.
→ True love!
What?! You can't really get to know someone in just one day.
What if he's secretly plotting to steal your kingdom? What if you hate the way he picks his nose?
→ That's a good point.
It is a good point! Thank you.
→ Doesn't matter. True love.
No. I'm sorry. You can't just say "true love" like it answers all the questions!
→ Ew.
All men do it. Sorry.
Is everything okay?
Is talking about feelings as hard for you as it is for me? Why is that?
→ Because they're important.
I guess that makes sense. You don't want to mess up something that important. |
And it's easy to get confused about feelings. |
→ Because they're scary.
Wait -- why would feelings be scary? They can't bite you, like wolves. You can't fall off the side of a feeling and die. |
They just sit inside of you, always there, haunting your every waking moment and changing everything. |
... Yep. You're right. Feelings can be terrifying. |
→ Because they're weird.
You're right, feelings ARE weird. Things were so much simpler when it was just me, Sven and the trolls! |
Simpler... but not as amazing. So I guess feelings are worth it. |
How do YOU talk about feelings, Player?
→ Be honest.
I'm always honest. It's just sometimes the words I use don't end up saying what I really mean. |
Like one time I called Anna crazy for getting engaged to a man she just met. |
That wasn't the right word at all. I should have said "impetuous," or "eager," or "passionate"! Because Anna is all those things, and I love that about her. |
→ Be sensitive.
Yeah, being sensitive isn't really something I learned while climbing mountains and harvesting ice. |
But ever since I met Anna, I've been trying my best. |
→ Just ignore your feelings.
Does that work? I don't know if that's a good idea.
Need any help?
Hey, Player. You know Goofy, right?
→ Yeah! We're friends.
[continue to next line]
→ I know him.
[continue to next line]
→ Who?
You know, Goofy. He runs the market Stall in the Meadow?
player
Of course I know Goofy. I'm just joking around. Why do you ask?
He seems like a nice guy. I'd like to get to know him better. It'd be great to make some more friends around the Village.
Does he have any hobbies I could talk to him about?
player
Hmmm. Goofy likes...
→ ...fishing.
Fishing, huh? I can work with that.
→ ...talking to people.
Oh... I'm not generally a big talker, but I am a good listener. Maybe that'll work.
Thanks, Player.
Something on your mind?
Player, some people think it's weird that I spend so much time in the woods. Do you?
→ Not at all.
Good to know.
→ Yeah, a bit.
Oh, Hmm...
→ It's okay to be weird.
Thanks... I guess everyone's weird in their own way, right?
The forest is just what I'm used to. It's simple there.
Just me and Sven. The trees. The birds. A guy can really think, ya know?
→ That sounds nice.
It is. It's always worked for me.
→ It's where you grew up, right?
Yeah. The forest and Troll Valley. Guess that's why I feel at home there.
→ Just don't stay alone for too long.
I promise I won't. Don't want to lose touch with everyone I care about. And besides, there aren't a lot of carrots in the forest for Sven.
Something wrong?
Player, you've seen those odd-looking, sharp plants, right?
I think they're called Night Thorns.
→ Believe me, I've seen them.
It seems like they're everywhere.
→ They're kinda hard to miss.
It seems like they're everywhere.
→ I have to deal with them constantly.
Sorry. That doesn't sound like fun.
The trolls believe that everything in nature has a purpose.
Do you think we could make something useful out of them?
→ That would be dangerous. They're magic.
Oh, wow. It is not smart to mess with magic.
→ Like what?
Oh, I don't know... tea? Thorny wreaths? Actually...
→ Maybe if we purified them...
That sounds like magic. Which I try not to mess with.
I'll just leave dealing with the Night Thorns to the magic professionals. Mainly you.
What are you up to today?
So, I was thinking of climbing an icy mountain today.
→ That sounds fun.
It is fun. And I like the feeling of accomplishment when I get to the top of a tall mountain. |
I can't wait to look down and see the whole Valley in one glance. |
→ That sounds dangerous.
It can be, but I've been climbing mountains my whole life.
→ Why?
Why does anyone climb a mountain? To get to the top.
I can't wait to look down and see the whole Valley in one glance.
→ That sounds beautiful.
I'm sure it will be. Sights like that really make you understand your place in the world.
→ I bet you'll enjoy that.
I will. I bet it's gonna be incredible.
→ Don't slip!
Don't worry. I'm an expert. I'll be fine.
You seem confused.
Player. Do you think the magic here is strange?
→ Very strange.
Yes! Thank you!
→ I think it's more magical.
Right... because it's magic. But the magical stuff I've seen here is definitely strange.
→ I'm starting to think of it as normal.
Really? Huh. Because the magical stuff I've seen here is definitely strange.
This isn't the kind of magic I'm used to. Some things here just don't make sense to me.
→ Yeah. Me neither.
Phew! I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed.
→ Is it different from the trolls' magic?
Totally different! They're love experts and never confuse things or make you lose your memory.
→ Is it like Elsa's magic?
No. Elsa's magic is ice and snow. Pretty useful stuff, actually, speaking as an ice expert.
