Quest Text

The Fairy Godmother has tasked you with restoring the Pillar of Remembrance. All that remains is to pick up the Orb...

Before you can restore the Orb of Remembrance, you're confronted by the Forgotten. It's the showdown you've long been waiting for...

The Forgotten steals the Orb of Remembrance from your grasp, intent on using its magic to fuel some sort of spell to tear down the walls of reality in the Village. So, you know, just another day in Dreamlight Valley!

Objectives

Dialogue

Optional Conversation A: What should I do?

I must find Merlin. We've much to discuss. Perhaps you can restore the Pillar while we speak?

Optional Conversation B: What should I do?

The Forgotten appeared before you in the Dreamscape? Oh dear!

Conversation 1: The Forgotten, Player

After all this time... here we are. Face to face.

I have all these... these memories in my head all of a sudden. You must have seen them too.

So you must know who I am by now.

→   You're my inner child, aren't you?
player

You split off from me when I stoped visiting Dreamlight Valley.

Inner child...? But how can we really say which one of us is the real <<PLAYER>>?

→   You're everything I left behind.
player

When I stopped visiting Dreamlight Valley... when I let go of my childlike wonder... You're all of that.

What you left behind...? But how can you really say which one of us is the real <<PLAYER>>?

→   You're some sort of shadow of me.
player

When I left Dreamlight Valley... I left a shadow, an echo. And that's you.

ME? How do you know I'm not the REAL <<PLAYER>>? What if YOU'RE the echo?

Maybe you're just the part that moved on. A piece of ME that left...

→   It doesn't matter. I just want to help.
player

I don't want to hurt you. Really. I want to help.

Is that what you think about me? That I'm... I'm some kind of weakling who needs "help"?

Maybe I was. Once. But not anymore.

→   No sudden moves... I'm watching you.
player

I want to talk, but... you better not try to rip open a portal or hex me or anything like that!

Heh. You're afraid of me? Good. You should be.

Maybe Merlin should have been afraid of me too. Instead of thinking I was some weakling who needed his help.

→   That's enough. Get out of my way.
player

After everything you've done to this Village... we've got nothing more to talk about.

player

Step aside so I can fix the damage you've done.

Fix the damage...? Heh.

Don't you see that running around and helping everybody... it makes them weak. And it makes YOU weak too.

→  Needing help doesn't make you weak.
player
That's what Merlin was trying to tell you. Caring for others... That's not something you leave behind.
player
It makes us stronger. Not weaker. It holds the Valley together.
player
Please. Let us help you.
→  You put on a big show... but I can tell you're scared.
player

If you really felt like you were so strong, then you wouldn't have stayed in the shadows all this time. Whatever was happening to you... Merlin could have helped.

You think I didn't TRY to ask for help? After that day with Scar... no one could hear me.

I was trapped in the shadows. Alone. Lost. It takes all my magic now just to step out into the light.

player

But you're here now. Let's fix all of this.

Fix all of this? That's exactly what I've been trying to do.

I haven't been hiding.

I've been busy.

player

Busy? Doing what...?

Do you expect me to just tell you my whole plan?! Like some kind of... some kind of villain at the end of a movie?

→  If you've got a plan... I can help.

You could never help. Because you could never understand.

→  I mean... you're kind of giving off that vibe?

You still don't get it. I'm not the bad guy. YOU are.

There's only one way to make sure that no one ever gets pulled to the dark side of Dreamlight Valley like I was.

Only one way to make sure no one is ever lonely again.

I need to rip open the walls between worlds. Between Dreamlight Valley and the other side.

And now I have the last thing I was missing. The way to fuel the spell. The Orb of Remembrance!

Conversation 2

PLAYER! Something's happened, hasn't it?

The sky above the Valley seems to be... opening.

Wait a moment... What's happened to the Orb of Remembrance?

player

The Forgotten showed up and stole it from me.

The Forgotten?! Oh dear.

player

That's not all. The Forgotten is planning some sort of spell to tear down the wall between Dreamlight Valley and the dark side.

→  None of it made any sense.

XXXXXX

→  A spell so "no one will ever be lonely again."

Goodness. They want to rend the fabric of reality? Tear down the wall between one world and the next?

That's a very dangerous sort of magic!

With just the slightest slip, the Forgotten could destroy... everything!

player

You mean... all of Dreamlight Valley?

No. I mean EVERYTHING.

Dreamlight Valley. The dark side. The Here and There. The Realms...

Perhaps even the waking world.

→  I'll make sure that doesn't happen.

XXXXXX

→  I didn't sign up for this!!!

XXXXXX

→  I am FREAKING OUT.
player

I'm just having a bit of trouble processing the fact that my lost inner child is about to ACCIDENTALLY DESTROY THE UNIVERSE.

It's difficult magic, dear. For now, Dreamlight Valley is safe and stable. But we must do what we can while we're able!

Soon, you'll have no choice but to cross to the dark side of Dreamlight Valley and confront the Forgotten.

I'll consult with Merlin on how we might do that. In the meantime, you should do what you've always done.

Keep taking care of Dreamlight Valley.
