The Wild Tangle's Swarm is a Eternity Isle Story Quest available from Gaston.

The quest is only available to players who have purchased the expansion pack A Rift in Time. It begins after completing the quest The Wanderer of the Dunes, and can be progressed after encountering Rapunzel and unlocking the path to the Grove area in the Wild Tangle on Eternity Isle. It is the second quest in a chain of three to unlock Gaston. It is followed by the quest Diamond in the Rough.

Quest Text

The next piece of the Scarab is likely in the Tangle -- maybe Gaston can help shed some light on the situation... if he's managed to move past the whole Coconut LeFou debacle.

Rapunzel described a strange buzzing sound that she was never able to locate -- if you can find it, maybe it can lead the way to the Scarab.

Rapunzel suggested making Flower Arrangements from the local carnivorous plants -- maybe they'll be able to devour the insects and reveal what they're hiding.

The insects have been dealt with, revealing the second piece of the Scarab! However, it's in terrible condition -- maybe Jafar knows what to do.

You've braved the Wild Tangle and now have both pieces of the Scarab! The Cave of Wonders awaits...

Objectives

• Gaston is not yet ready to help you find the next Scarab Piece.

• Give Gaston some time to re-center himself.
• Explore the Wild Tangle to see who you meet.

• Check on Gaston.
• Talk to Rapunzel.
• Find the Swarming Insects in the Grove.
• Those insects are hiding something. But how to get rid of them?

• Take a picture of the insects to show Rapunzel. She might have an idea.

• Return to Rapunzel.
• Gather the following resources from across Eternity Isle:

• Green Fly Trap (4).
• Purple Fly Trap (4).
• Red Pitcher Plant (4).
• Yellow Pitcher Plant (4).
• Tropical Wood (12).

• Craft some Carnivorous Floral Arrangement. (2)
• Decorate using the Carnivorous Floral Arrangement near the Bug-Infested Pedestal in the Grove. (2)
• Now all that's left to do is wait. This might take a while.

• Check on Gaston and how he's doing with his task.

• The plants should have eaten the insects by now.

• Return to the Pedestal in the Grove.

• You found the Jungle Scarab Piece!

• Pick up the Jungle Scarab Piece from the pedestal.

• The Scarab piece is completely rusted. Maybe Jafar would know how to restore it?

• Talk to Jafar at a Hologram Station.

• Examine the Blueprint in your Inventory.
• Gather what is needed to repair the Jungle Scarab Piece.

• Rusty Jungle Scarab Piece (1).
• Dream Shard (3).
• Mist (1000).

• Repair the Jungle Scarab Piece at a Timebending Table.
• You now hold both Scarab pieces.

• Talk to Jafar at a Hologram Station about the next step.
