Take a look around the Valley for any items that were not there previously. As with all hidden quests, check for interaction labels to appear when you approach an object.

Spoiler: Step 0.5 - Finding Instructions

There are small, dark purple books around the Valley that the Player can Read which will provide necessary information. These books are small - a bit smaller than the size of a piece of Coal Ore dropped on the ground, and nearly flat.

Below is the list of places where the books can be found. The items are static and will not disappear after the player Reads them, and they may be found in any order. They are listed below in the order they will be used in a subsequent quest step. Note that the information found in these books will significantly help you, but it is not necessary to find and Read them in order to proceed with the quest. The Peaceful Meadow At the base of the staircase leading from the Plaza to the Peaceful Meadow, near an endcap for a piece of railing next to the lamp embedded in the southeast base of the stairs. Spoiler: Book text Experiment No. 146. No one would suspect something as mundane as a potato could hold the key. I daresay it's genius. The Plaza On the tiled platform where the Wishing Well is located, next to the east southeast lamp in the hedge-like greenery. Spoiler: Book text Experiment No. 243. The Forgotten is getting to me. I can't rely on my own memory. I must write everything down in a book lest I forget... Dazzle Beach On the staircase leading down from the Peaceful Meadow to Dazzle Beach, at the base of the right Bent Palm Tree. The Peaceful Meadow On the southeast side of the base of the large Root Arch that extends over one of the entrances to the Glade of Trust from the Peaceful Meadow. This location overlooks the far west edge of Dazzle Beach. Spoiler: Book text Experiment No. 892. A simple declaration of Higitis Figitus should be enough to... Sunlit Plateau On west shore of the river, overlooking the waterfall into the Glade of Trust, on some stone near the base of a large Snake Plant. Spoiler: Book text Experiment No. 977. Attempted to unlock the magical power of fugu...Alas, results proved disastrous... Secret Chamber Inside the Secret Chamber, to the right, floating close to the floor near the thorn closest to the pedestal with the white crystal on it. Spoiler: Book text Experiment No. 1,232. Growing tired. The crystal ought to allow me to channel the transfiguration energies... Mysterious Cave Inside the Mysterious Cave where the player first encounters Ursula, to the right, on the tip of some wooden boards next to a Medium Fern Coral. Spoiler: Book text Experiment No. 3,598. Spent today foraging for all I need to make the Transfiguration Stones... Scrooge's Store At the top of the left staircase, in the corner, overlooking the trio display of Clothing items. Spoiler: Book text Experiment No. 3,599. Must be more diligent with my notes. The Forgetting nearly made me forget what I meant to do with all these ingredients... Vitalys Mines In the mines, continue along the path past the mine cart and the pool of water with glowing Vitalys Crystals on the wall where the Brilliant Blue Potion was created in the Blue Potato Quest. When you reach the next dead end, turn right towards the glowing blue cave-in, and look on the ground to the right, behind the base of one of the wood beams, next to two small pieces of greenery. Spoiler: Book text Experiment No. 4,232. Found a rather tasty raspberry today. Perhaps the Night Thorns haven't strangled all the life in the Valley just yet. Dazzle Beach On the east side of the dock on Dazzle beach, right where the water meets the shore. Spoiler: Book text Experiment No. 5,232. Only one way to seal the magic. I'll hide a code in these books. Something no one will ever think of...

Spoiler: Step 2

This step will use the information you have found to obtain a Purple Potato. Spoiler: More Help Go to the Secret Chamber in the Frosted Heights where Olaf is first encountered. Spoiler: Even More Help Speak to the Dark Portal using the information you have learned. Spoiler: Solution Provide the Portal the following passwords in order: Potato Book Dreams Higitus Figitus Fugu Crystal Foraging The Forgetting Raspberry Magic If the passwords are provided in the correct order, the Purple Potato will pop out. You must pick it up; walking over it will not pick it up automatically. At this point, the purple books will disappear from the Valley.

Spoiler: Step 3

This step will transform the Purple Potato into a Royal Purple Potion. Spoiler: More Help What have you done to turn a colorful Potato into a Potion in a previous quest? Spoiler: Solution At a Crafting Station, use the Purple Potato, and an Empty Vial to craft the Royal Purple Potion. The Crafting Recipe will not be listed at a Crafting Station until the Purple Potato is obtained. The recipe is listed under Potion & Enchantment. The items do not have to be in the Player's Inventory in order to be used by the Crafting Recipe.
