Purple Potato Quest (not an official name) is a Hidden Quest that is not associated with any Character.

The quest does not have any text provided to the user, and it does not appear in the interface in any way beyond the items that are involved. It must be discovered.

Take a look around the Valley for any items that were not there previously. As with all hidden quests, check for interaction labels to appear when you approach an object.

There are small, dark purple books around the Valley that the Player can Read which will provide necessary information. These books are small - a bit smaller than the size of a piece of Coal Ore dropped on the ground, and nearly flat.

Below is the list of places where the books can be found. The items are static and will not disappear after the player Reads them, and they may be found in any order. They are listed below in the order they will be used in a subsequent quest step.
Note that the information found in these books will significantly help you, but it is not necessary to find and Read them in order to proceed with the quest.
The Peaceful Meadow

At the base of the staircase leading from the Plaza to the Peaceful Meadow, near an endcap for a piece of railing next to the lamp embedded in the southeast base of the stairs.

In the mines, continue along the path past the mine cart and the pool of water with glowing Vitalys Crystals on the wall where the Brilliant Blue Potion was created in the Blue Potato Quest. When you reach the next dead end, turn right towards the glowing blue cave-in, and look on the ground to the right, behind the base of one of the wood beams, next to two small pieces of greenery.

If the passwords are provided in the correct order, the Purple Potato will pop out. You must pick it up; walking over it will not pick it up automatically.
At this point, the purple books will disappear from the Valley.
