The Chronicles of the Ancients is a Friendship Quest available from Belle.

It's available after reaching Friendship level 10 with Belle, unlocking The Fairy Godmother and Ariel, and clearing the passage to Frosted Heights.

The symbols which need to be found and photographed for this quest can be found at the following locations:

• On the rocks on Ariel's Island beach (near the chest)
• To the left of the entrance to Olaf's cave in Frosted Heights.
• On a large rock between waterfall over ruins and the north bridge in the Glade of Trust
• On a stone behind the Ruins in the Forgotten Lands

Quest Text

Belle comes to find you with a request. She's on the trail of something called The Chronicles of the Ancients, and she's sure that information regarding its whereabouts is somewhere in her Journal, but some parts are strangely unreadable. She asks you to take a look to see if you can make sense of them.

Belle's Journal contained an extract from the Ruler's Diary, which mentioned that The Chronicles of the Ancients is hidden on an island away from Dreamlight Valley. While talking to Belle, you realize you need to go and ask Ariel for help.

Ariel confirms your theory and after some help from the Beast you manage to discover a Scroll and a Chest.

You discover that to open it, someone needs to take pictures of Symbols scattered around the Valley. You decide to use your Camera to do just that.

You manage to find all the Symbols, open the Chest and get The Chronicles of the Ancients for Belle, but there is a problem. The device refuses to turn on. Belle is disappointed, and you decide to see the Fairy Godmother for help.

The Fairy Godmother informs you that The Chronicles of the Ancients is merely powered down and tells you what to bring her to remedy the situation.

As you were bringing the The Chronicles of the Ancients back to Belle, the young woman decided that everyone should be able to enjoy it.

With The Chronicles of the Ancients placed in the Valley, Belle should have everything she needs to be happy.

Objectives

• Examine Belle's Journal in the Beast's Castle.
• Examine the Page that fell from Belle's Journal.
• Return to Belle.
• Talk to Ariel.
• Use the raft on Dazzle Beach to travel to Ariel's island and examine the Chest trapped behind rocks.
• Return to Belle.
• Gather some materials:

• Ropes. (4)
• Iron Ingots. (2)

• Give the materials to Beast.
• (Optional) Put together a Rustic outfit. (3)
• Go back to Ariel's island.
• Make sure you're on Ariel's island.
• Talk to Beast.
• Take the Scroll from the Chest.
• Take a closer look at the Scroll.
• Take a picture of the first Symbol on Ariel's Beach. (Visiting at night makes the Symbol easier to see!)
• Return to Belle.
• Return to the Valley.
• Take a picture of the remaining Symbols (they're easier to see at night):

• Under the eyes of icy peaks.
• Near watery ruins.
• In the darkest part of the lands.

• Get the contents of the Chest from Beast's House.
• Talk to Belle.
• Make sure you have The Chronicles of the Ancients in your Inventory.
• Bring The Chronicles of the Ancients to the Fairy Godmother.
• Gather materials:

• Sapphire. (1)
• Gold Ingots. (10)
• Vitalys Crystals. (3)
• Dream Shards. (5)

• Bring the materials to the Fairy Godmother.
• Make sure you have the The Chronicles of the Ancients in your Inventory.
• Bring The Chronicles of the Ancients to Belle.
• Place The Chronicles of the Ancients near the Dreamlight Library.
• Return to Belle.
