Fixing the Boat is a Friendship Quest available from Moana. It's available after reaching Friendship level 2 with her and unlocking the path to Dazzle Beach.

After completing this quest she'll have a boat setup on Dazzle Beach which will offer players free fish periodically. This can be extremely useful early game, as it can provide types of fish from biomes which have not yet been unlocked.

Moana arrived in the Village, and now she's ready to help you fish.

She's found a Broken Boat on Dazzle Beach and wants to show it to you.

She wants to fix the boat and you agree to help her.

After you bring her all the necessary materials, Moana repairs the boat and a strange object appears next to it. Maybe she knows more about it.
