The Sands in the Hourglass is a Story Quest given by Jafar. The quest begins immediately after completing the Story Quest The Flying Metal Nuisance.

Quest Text

It's time to start your quest for the first of the three Jewels of Time.

You first need to visit the Secluded Beach where the Statue holding the Jewel of Time is standing.

Now that you know what materials you need, you'll have to gather them and craft a new arm for the Statue.

Once the material is gathered, Jafar tells you that you need to use a Timebending Table to put the arm back together.

With the Jewel of Time now in your possession, you use it to make your Hourglass even more powerful. Now you're ready to repair the bridge.

Objectives

• Reach the Secluded Beach down the passage to the right of the broken bridge.
  • (Clear away the Swirling Sands by equipping your Hourglass and pressing ___ near them!)
• Talk to Jafar at the Hologram Station.
• (Equip your Hourglass and search for lost treasures by pressing ___!)
  • Use your Hourglass to search the Secluded Beach for what you need to repair the Statue:
    • File:Ancient Statue Fragments.png Ancient Statue Fragments (2).
• Use your Hourglass to search for more materials lost in time around Ancient's Landing:
  • File:Ancient Plates.png Ancient Plates (3).
• Return to Jafar on the Secluded Beach.
• Talk to Jafar.
• Use the Detailed Statue-Repair Instructions in your Inventory.
• Craft the Statue's Arm at a Timebending Table.
• Put the Statue's Arm back in its socket.
• Return to the broken bridge in the Courtyard area.

Ah, PLAYER. You're wondering about this bridge, I presume. Well, it appears the bridge was damaged long ago by EVE. But how curious! Do you see the Time Rift surrounding it? It's connected to the magic of your Hourglass! If you channel the magical Mist within the Hourglass, you can reverse time and repair the bridge... And then you'll be able to venture forth into the Glittering Dunes and the Wild Tangle! →  I'll channel the magic of the Hourglass... (Use 2000 ) Ahh, well done, PLAYER! Now you can explore more of Eternity Isle. I'm certain you'll find numerous points of wonder as you do. →  I'm not quite ready yet... Oh. All right, but don't dawdle! There's so much we have yet to discover on this Isle. The Mist is connected to the magic of your Hourglass and to Eternity Isle itself. You must keep uncovering wonders with your Hourglass and continue to make Eternity Isle a home. As you do, you'll gain the Mist required!
