Eyes in the Dark is a Realm Quest available from Nala.

It automatically starts after unlocking The Lion King Realm inside the Dream Castle for 10,000 Dreamlight. It unlocks Nala. It is the first quest in a chain of two to unlock Simba. It is followed by the quest Stars to Guide Us.

During this quest Pride Rock will be built at a cost of 15,000 Star Coins, and upon completing its construction Nala will move to the Valley.

Quest Text

You’ve discovered a new world with arid plains and a lush jungle. It’s time to explore it.

You meet Nala, a lioness who’s been separated from her mate, Simba, the king of the Pride Lands. You volunteer to help her fend off some hyenas who, out for revenge, have been following her on her journey.

You manage to fend off the hyenas. Nala invites you to journey into the jungle with her to meet Simba.

You find Simba in the jungle. Hakuna Matata-ing. He’s delighted to hear Nala has made it to the jungle safely and rushes off to meet her.

Simba and Nala are reunited at last! But Nala is famished after her encounter with the hyenas

Simba suggest you make a Bug Platter for Nala. But you’ll have to find some bugs around here to do it.

Nala tries the grubs and finds them gooey, yet gratifying. But the meal is interrupted by the arrival of more hyenas

Scrooge McDuck lends you an old Sound System that you can use to scare off the hyenas. But it’s in need of a few repairs.

Using the Sound System you got from Uncle Scrooge, you convince the hyenas that there’s an army of lions in the jungle and scare them off. With that problem settled, Nala is eager to come visit Dreamlight Valley

Nala arrives in the Valley. You imagine this place will take some getting used to…

Objectives

• Explore The Lion King Realm.
• Explore The Lion King Realm.
• Dig out the dried thorn bushes to find some Thorn Bush Seeds. (5)
• Plant the seeds in the holes near the ledge in the dried-out oasis, then water them until they grow. (5)
• Water the seeds close to the ledge at the far side of the dried-out oasis. (5)
• Talk to Nala.
• Find a way into the cave so you can reach the jungle.
• Talk to Nala.
• Find a way to lower the log near the waterfall.
• Cross the river and search the other side for Simba.
• Talk to Simba.
• Follow Simba to Nala and watch their joyous reunion.
• Talk to Simba.
• Collect the following bugs:

• Find the Colorful Bugs in the dried-out oasis. (6)
• Fish the Slimy Bugs out of the river. (3)

• Return to Simba.
• Remove the stump deeper in the jungle to find the Red Bugs.
• Catch the Red Bugs. (6)
• Cook three Bug Platters using the Red Bugs, Colorful Bugs, and Slimy Bugs. (3)
• Make sure you have the Bug Platter in your Inventory. (3)
• Bring the Bug Platter to Nala.
• Go back to Dreamlight Valley and talk to Scrooge McDuck.
• Gather the following materials to repair the Sound System:

• Softwood. (10)
• Hardwood. (5)
• Iron Ingot. (2)

• Repair the Sound System at a Crafting Station.
• Return to The Lion King Realm
• Bring the Sound System back to Nala
• Place Pride Rock in the Village.
• Use the Scrooge McDuck sign to pay for the construction of Pride Rock.
• Welcome Nala to Dreamlight Valley
• Talk to Nala.

Joyous reunion conversation: Simba, Nala

Nala! Am I glad to see you! Me too. I've missed you. And I could've used some help fending off those hyenas. Well, it looks like you handled it just fine on your own. Are you okay? Yes. But fighting off a pack of hyenas does make you work up quite an appetite... I'm so hungry I could eat a whole zebra. Not a lot of zebras around here. But don't worry. I think I know just the thing... Though, I might need some help from PLAYER to put it together. Wait... Simba, you better not be talking about-- Trust me. I promise you'll find them slimy yet satisfying.
