The Shadow Play is a Friendship Quest available from Mulan.

It is available after leveling Friendship with Mulan to level 4, progressing with Mickey Mouse, and unlocking Mushu and the path to the Glade of Trust.

Quest Text

Mulan wants to share something from her childhood with Dreamlight Valley. You should go and talk to her.

She tells you about shadow play, a traditional puppetry theatre from her childhood. She explains that she'd love to share this part of her life with her neighbors. She already has the perfect story idea to tell but needs your help to gather some materials while she writes the script.

Once you bring back everything to Mulan, she tells you that Mushu decided to help her with the lighting but has run into some trouble. You decide to talk to him.

Mushu explains he has a problem with the lantern for the show. It doesn't want to stay lit. He remembers something about using a special kind of lantern before the Forgetting but he's a bit fuzzy on the details. You decide to ask Merlin for help.

The wizard explains that the solution to Mushu's problem is to craft something called a Draconic Garnet. You put yourself to the task.

Once you've crafted it, you bring it to Mushu.

Mushu fills the Draconic Garnet with his fire and instructs you to bring it to Mulan.

Mulan puts together the Shadow Theater and gives it to you to place it. She lets you decide about the location but suggests that you wait for nighttime.

Villagers seem to have enjoyed the shadow play but there's only one way to know if it was up to Mulan's expectations.

• Bring the Shadow Theater materials to Mulan.
• Talk to Mushu.
• Talk to Merlin.
• Gather the following for the Empty Draconic Garnet:

• Shiny Garnet.
• Dream Shards. (4)
• Coal. (12)

• Craft the Empty Draconic Garnet.
• Make sure you have the Empty Draconic Garnet in your Inventory.
• Bring the Empty Draconic Garnet to Mushu.
• Make sure you have the Draconic Garnet in your Inventory.
• Bring the Draconic Garnet to Mulan.
• Place the Shadow Theater anywhere in the Valley.
• (Optional) Place it at nighttime for dramatic effect.
• Enjoy Mulan's shadow play.
• Talk to Mulan about the shadow play.
